People like to claim they were talking about Christ, but it could easily have been Shakyamuni Buddha, Zoroaster, Socrates, a Druid, the Aryan Gods etc.
This movie had a much deeper Indo-European aspect to it, and Ridley ended up looking towards BS science and his "Catholicism" instead of allowing it to have a more metaphysical and expansive story that asked important questions. This is why we need writers and creators of our own
We need a "lore" sci-fi series, novel-TV show-Movie, etc, that focuses on something like this in depth and does it justice.
We need media that stirs the spirit.
