Nepal & Bhutan: Misuse of Open Borders
• Open Borders: India shares open borders with Nepal and Bhutan, symbolizing friendly
relations, but these borders are often misused by external actors.
• Cross-Border Movement: These borders serve as convenient transit routes for
terrorists, criminals, and smugglers, facilitating the movement of arms, Fake Indian
Currency Notes (FICN), and narcotics into India.
• ISI Activities: Pakistan's ISI has a history of using this vulnerability for its anti-India
operations. Two key examples prove this point:
> In December 1999, terrorists hijacked flight IC 814 after it departed from Nepal.
> In August 2013, Indian Mujahideen terrorist Yasin Bhatkal was captured near the
India-Nepal border after using it to hide.

Operation Rising Lion
Recently, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched
“Operation Rising Lion”, a major strike against Iranian
nuclear infrastructure and ballistic missile capability.

Operation Black Forest
Operation Black Forest was a counter-insurgency & counter-terrorism operation operation conducted by Indian security forces against Naxalite-Maoist insurgents in areas located between the states of Chhattisgarh and Telangana.

Grey-Zone Warfare :- It involves the use of unconventional tactics that fall just below the threshold of traditional war. The goal is to weaken an adversary without triggering a full-scale military response.

Cyber Salami Slicing :- A salami attack is a cybercrime method where criminals steal small amounts of money from financial accounts one at a time.

The McMahon Line is a 890 km boundary between India and Tibet, drawn by British negotiator Sir Henry McMahon at the 1914 Simla Convention. The "Super 7" railroads refer to seven high-speed rail corridors announced by the Indian government to boost connectivity, featuring speeds up to 350km/h. These corridors include major routes like:
Mumbai–Pune ~45–50 minutes
Pune–Hyderabad ~1 hour 55 minutes
Hyderabad–Bengaluru ~2 hours
Hyderabad–Chennai ~2 hours 55 minutes
Chennai–Bengaluru ~1 hour 13 minutes
Delhi–Varanasi ~3 hours 50 minutes
Varanasi–Siliguri ~2 hours 55 minutes
aiming to modernize rail infrastructure and facilitate faster regional travel.

Note - Super 7 WAS ANNOUNCED IN union budget 2026-27. The seven corridors are planned to be developed with a total investment of approximately ₹16 lakh crore covering a total length of about 4,000 km.

i. Matric/Secondary School certificate or equivalent showing name and date of birth,
ii. Intermediate/Higher Secondary (12th) certificate or equivalent, if acquired,
iii. Graduation/Post Graduation Degree or Provisional degree and mark sheet of graduation/post
graduation from a recognized university,
iv. OBC certificate, if applicable, from competent authority in prescribed proforma, as explained in para 11
(K) above,
v. EWS certificate, if applicable,
vi. SC/ST certificate, if applicable,
vii. NOC from the present employer, if applicable,
viii. Sufficient number of photographs, identical to the one uploaded, &
ix. Certificate/document issued from the competent authority in support of age relaxation, if applicable. (Ex
servicemen discharge certificate, Widow/Divorcee certificate, Meritorious sportsperson certificate, etc.)

The tragedy can be avoided by students by cultivating faith and mental strength, moral courage and preparedness.
