Join us in this Wednesday in the UTIRAN Book Circle for our last discussion of “Boof-e Koor.”

📚"Boof-e Koor (The Blind Owl) is a modernist novel by Iranian writer Sadeq Hedayat, first published in 1937. It is considered one of the most important works of Persian literature in the 20th century. The novel is a dark, surreal exploration of existential despair, guilt, and madness. Its narrator, a troubled painter, recounts his fragmented memories and hallucinatory experiences as he grapples with his isolation and obsession with a mysterious, unattainable woman. Through dreamlike sequences, the book delves into themes of death, the subconscious, and the inescapable nature of human suffering, blending symbolism and psychological depth in a haunting narrative."

We will read and discuss this piece in Farsi.
