For many who are struggling with mental health issues, they may seem ok on the outside, but often, they are barely surviving on the inside, going through each day hanging by a thread. Even though we may not fully understand and emphatise with them, but what we can offer is our thoughts and presence. A simple gift, a text of concern, or a random act of kindness can help them know that they are not alone. Most importantly, by offering our time and our presence, we can accompany them through their struggles and journey with them from darkness into light. 🤍

Over the course of the next three weeks, we will be exploring the theme of resilience. Our character, Pablo is a testament to what resilience can bring you. Comment down below what traits of resilience Pablo represents.

Check back in tomorrow morning for more on overcoming adversity.

🐧 Pablo's Resilience Role Model 🐧

In the spirit of overcoming adversity, let's draw inspiration from the life of Helen Keller. A remarkable woman who, despite facing the dual challenges of being both deaf and blind, transformed her adversity into strength and became an influential author, lecturer, and advocate for the deaf-blind community.

Her story reminds us that even in the face of the most daunting obstacles, it's possible to rise above and shine. Now, consider this: when we share our pains and challenges, we create a bridge between our hearts. Just like Helen Keller, who connected with the world through touch and understanding, opening up about our struggles can have profound benefits. It not only allows us to release the emotional burden but also fosters a sense of connection, empathy, and resilience within our cozy crochet community

Remember, even in the face of adversity, the human spirit has an incredible capacity to heal and inspire.

🐧 Tough Times 🐧

When we go through tough times in life, it can feel overwhelming. Taking lessons from Pablo, when he felt helpless and felt like giving up on finding his parents, he learnt to cope. It was the coping skills which gave him the clarity to push through.

Coping lessons from Pablo

Building Connections
Feeling vulnerable can make it seem tempting to withdraw from our loved ones, but isolation can have negative effects. Forging connections with people who support you will provide comfort in a time of need. These connections will also allow you to enjoy your interests with people you can trust. Go out and form those connections!

🐧Pablo's Message For Our Toughest Moments📜

Just as Pablo Penguin represents the spirit of overcoming adversity, poetry too, serves as a resilient companion in life's storms. The eloquent words of poems have a unique ability to heal and to represent the people we are.

In our darkest hour, poems serve as a reassuring message, they provide overtures of calm for our grievances. Pablo's favourite poem for his toughest moments is called “Hope is the thing with feathers" by Emily Dickinson. Take a moment to enjoy the poem posted above.
