Solution: we translate depending on on the context by using uncommon meanings,

Problem 🅿️: idioms are direct, indirect and phrasal verbs and students don't know when to Translate literally or with equivalent or meaning.

Solution: Translating direct idioms literally is OK, but the other types (indirect and phrasal verbs) must be translated with equivalent or meaning because they are metaphorical.
