If we want to make sure that this word is adverbial :
1. Substitute
If we can replace it with it it's not Adverbial .
He eats fast
Fast , it modifiers the verb ( eats ) , we cannot replace fast with ( it ) so fast here Adverbial
He eats sweet
Word ( sweet) we can replace it with( it)
He eats it
So it's Nominal
2. Passive : we can't make an adverb in passive form.
She plays skillfully
So ,skillfully an adverb because we cannot make it passive
3. Mobility: it has an ability to move within a sentence.
Tomorrow she will read a book
She will read a book tomorrow
3.elimenation : if the term in question is not a nominal, verbal, adjectival, and not a structure word , so it's adverbial
The cases that we can test the term whether it's Adverbial or not ☝️🏻
