It’s been a busy week…

Discussions with the Electoral Commission continue and the Members will discuss the resubmission of our application at a special EGM on 5th September.

Our man in Wales, Jerome O’Reilly was targeted by a small Welsh media outlet, Nation Cymru, for some outrageous smear, however Jerome fought back and got the following published in the article:

Mr O’Reilly denied that he had ever been a neo-Nazi. He said: ”This is an abhorrent slur against my character. Since I became politically active I have focused exclusively on community politics and I have never engaged in any form of extremism.

The Homeland Party is a nationalist political party with members on local government councils in England and Scotland; we stand up for the interests of local people. These extremist far-left groups consider the Homeland Party dangerous because we do not entertain the cranks and oddballs who are easy to discredit and instead encourage patriots to adhere to sensible and serious community politics.

For this reason, I have moved across to the Homeland Party. We seek to give a voice to local communities currently ignored by the establishment parties.

The same discredited source peddles the 20th April lie. We began organising informally on the 19th of April, held a meeting on the 19th and more for several nights afterwards and were formally constituted on the 8th of May. This is the anniversary of VE Day!” [It's even on our membership cards].

The editor is currently refusing to edit the headline and Jerome is continuing to challenge him and will take his case to IPSO if required.

Another man in the headlines was out Nominating Officer Cllr Anthony Burrows. Anthony lost his civil action case appealing the removal of his shotgun licence, but is working on a possible High Court appeal on the advice of his legal team.

Anthony’s story was covered by the Derby Telegraph in a piece which relied heavily on the words of the judge - which Anthony and his legal team dispute – and discredited far-left sources. He responded to them stating:

"I was not the defendant, I was the appellant, there was no crime here.

I've never been convicted of a crime, never mind investigated, questioned, cautioned or arrested over any criminal activity; I even have a clean driving licence. I am an upstanding member of my community, people who know me have already been in touch outraged against this smear on my good character.

At no point was I able to state my actual beliefs, this is a hatchet job from a politically motivated police force and judiciary. The woke establishment are persecuting those who oppose them politically, just as we have seen with Nigel Farage and Lawrence Fox who are even been denied access to banking services.

Judge Bennett is wrong on the facts and the law. I am being encouraged to make an appeal at the High Court, but there are financial considerations which may prevent this, as so many others have found in the past."

A follow-up interview took place today, which will see a second piece published tomorrow. As expected, the far-left Ferret regurgitated the story and included Anthony’s comments.

We also managed to get our short video out about the councillors meeting in Bishopbriggs. Our two Parish Councillors from the Midlands and the two members from Scotland who are Community Councillors are expected to be joined by more community representatives before our AGM at the end of the month.
