Home Office asks EC about us
On the first of August the little known online newspaper The Ferret published an article about us where they revealed that the home office had inquired to the electoral commission about our “secret” application to become a political party.
In the article the journalist states that we were going to apply in secret then on the next paragraph confirms that we applied as the Homeland Party!
As part of the application process we understand that the EC may very well take information or evidence from third parties. We also believe that the EC will give fair advice to prospective political parties.
This is our first application with the Electoral Commission and we are awaiting a response. We are hopeful of our success in this process.

Update on Electoral Commission Application
We made our application at the start of May. Knowing that it would be heavily scrutinised, we took extra care to follow the guidance closely, comply with all statutory requirements and keep it as simple as possible.
Today, Kenny Smith spoke to a Senior Adviser at the EC, who confirmed that our application has been assessed by the registration team (who check against requirements & make a recommendation) and it’s now with the Approvals Board, who normally take a couple of weeks to review.
We are told it has been with the Approvals Board for a while now and has taken longer than normal to review; they refuse to disclose a reason why. We are confident there is nothing in our application that warrants weeks of extra scrutiny.
We can confirm that when the Approvals Board have completed their review, EC Director Louise Edwards will make her decision known to us. Further communication with the EC with regard to the emails from the Home Office, which were revealed online last week, will continue in writing.
The Homeland Party remains confident that our application is a solid one, but it is clear that we are being scrutinised more than other parties. This is the price you pay for being anti-establishment in this day and age. Ultimately, we prepared for this and everything is proceeding as expected.
In the meantime, we will continue with our community politics approach, setting a new standard for how nationalist parties conduct themselves. We remain confident that the Homeland Party will be on ballot papers up & down the country.
