💡 Hipo's Report on TON Blackout

🚧 As you may be aware, TON blockchain encountered a blackout from December 5th to 9th. This occurred due to an unprecedented surge in transactions, exceeding 2.5 million within a short span.

🚨 Due to technical limitations, the validators struggled to manage this unprecedented surge, causing the blockchain to halt. As a result, all messages sent on the basic work chain were queued and remained undelivered.

✅ The TON developers diligently worked to resolve this issue, successfully fixing it on December 8th, with the backlog of messages processed by December 9th.

🤕 Given that Hipo's smart contract operates on the basic work chain affected by the congestion, it couldn't facilitate borrow and lend operations during this period.

😴 Regrettably, Hipo missed 5 validation rounds due to the inability to send requests from the basic work chain to the master chain. Post-fix, we've resumed validation from the current round.

🌟 We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused. To offset the loss of rewards in these 5 rounds, we'll be adjusting the validator's share, ensuring stakers receive more rewards in upcoming rounds.

🚀 TON is an incredibly advanced blockchain. Despite this incident, it's designed to handle high loads. Such occurrences contribute to its resilience against future surges, instilling confidence in TON and the Core team.

Dear Hipo Community,

We want to inform you about the ongoing DDoS attack on the TON blockchain. This attack has caused some disruptions to infrastructure services, affecting various platforms including Hipo.

A DDoS attack floods servers with a large volume of requests, making it challenging to maintain services. While TON developers are actively working to resolve these issues, Addressing and mitigating such attacks is a complex process that requires time and effort.

Some Hipo users may experience difficulties, such as not being able to see their wallet balance on our web app. Here's what you need to know:

1. Safety of Funds: If you've initiated a deposit or withdrawal and it shows as successful on an explorer, rest assured that it will be processed in due time.

2. Processing Times: Deposits and withdrawals may take longer than usual, up to 34 hours, due to validation rounds on the main TON network. The processing time depends on when you submit your request.

3. Webapp Connectivity: Our webapp automatically retries connection attempts periodically. If you encounter the "Unable to access blockchain" error, please remain patient and allow the system some time to retry.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this challenging time. We're closely monitoring the situation and will keep you updated.
