"Harry Belafonte (born Harold George Bellanfanti Jr.; March 1, 1927) is an American singer, songwriter, activist, and actor. One of the most successful Jamaican-American pop stars, as he popularised the Trinbagonian Caribbean musical style with an international audience in the 1950s. His breakthrough album Calypso (1956) was the first million-selling LP by a single artist." β€’ "Belafonte is additionally known for his visit to Cuba which helped ensure hip-hop's place in Cuban society. According to Geoffrey Baker's article 'Hip hop, Revolucion! Nationalizing Rap in Cuba', in 1999, Belafonte met with representatives of the rap community immediately before meeting with Fidel Castro. This meeting resulted in Castro's personal approval of, and hence the government's involvement in, the incorporation of rap into his country's culture. In a 2003 interview, Belafonte reflected upon this meeting's influence: "When I went back to Havana a couple years later, the people in the hip-hop community came to see me and we hung out for a bit. They thanked me profusely and I said, 'Why?' and they said, 'Because your little conversation with Fidel and the Minister of Culture on hip-hop led to there being a special division within the ministry and we've got our own studio'."" β€’ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Belafonte β€’ https://t.me/TheTempleOfHipHop/404 β€’ https://t.me/IntuitivePublicMusic/2360 β€’ https://t.me/EuphonicIntuitive/878

"Some say it's the Holy Spirit. Some say the Great Spirit. Some say God. Some have specific names. But if we all are looking & experiencing this intelligence that's beyond our own intelligence, something that our intelligence is looking at & trying to figure out β€”- how DID that happen? I didn't do it. We talked about Endarkenment last week... about when the intellect is shut down, when it can't see a way. Or when you PURPOSEFULLY shut the intellect down & go with the FLOW. Follow Life's Outcome Willingly. Don't follow life's outcome worrying β€”- go with the FLOW. When you walk a righteous life, when you seek to help, love is on your heart, forgiveness on your heart & on your being, you get these privileges. These are the privileges. The privilege is: Peace, Love, Unity, Joy. These are the privileges." ---https://t.me/thetempleofhiphop/411, https://t.me/thetempleofhiphop/412

Grandmaster Flash - The Message (1982)

"Don't push me
'Cause I'm close to the edge
I'm tryin' not to lose my head
Ah-huh-huh-huh
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under

My brothers doin' bad, stole my mothers TV
Says, she watches to much, is just not healthy
All My Children in the daytime, Dallas, at night
Can't even see the game or the Sugar Ray fight
The bill collectors, they ring my phone
And scare my wife, when I'm not home

Got a bum education, double-digit inflation
Can't take the train to the job, there's a strike at the station
Neon King Kong standin' on my back
Can't stop to turn around, broke my sacroiliac
A midrange migraine, cancered membrane
Sometimes I think I'm going insane
I swear I might hijack a plane

Don't push me
'Cause I'm close to the edge
I'm tryin' not to lose my head
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under

My son said, Daddy, I don't wanna go to school
'Cause the teacher's a jerk, he must think, I'm a fool
And all the kids smoke reefer, I think it'd be cheaper
If I just got a job, learned to be a street sweeper
Or dance to the beat, shuffle my feet
Wear a shirt and tie and run with the creeps
'Cause it's all about money, ain't a damn thing funny
You got to have a con in this land of milk and honey"

"A child is born, with no state of mind
Blind to the ways of mankind
God is smilin' on you, but he's frownin' too
Because only God knows, what you'll go through
You'll grow in the ghetto, livin' second rate
And your eyes will sing a song of deep hate
The place, that you play and where you stay
Looks like one great big alley way

You'll admire all the number book takers
Thugs, pimps and pushers and the big money makers
Driving big cars, spendin' twenties and tens
And you wanna grow up to be just like them
Smugglers, scramblers, burglars, gamblers
Pickpockets, peddlers and even pan-handlers

You say I'm cool, I'm no fool
But then you wind up dropping out of high school
Now you're unemployed, all null 'n' void
Walking 'round like you're Pretty Boy Floyd
Turned stick-up kid, but look what you done did
Got sent up for an eight year bid
Now your manhood is took and you're a Maytag
Spend the next two years as an undercover fag

Being used and abused and served like hell
'Til one day you was found hung dead in a cell
It was plain to see that your life was lost
You was cold and your body swung back and forth
But now your eyes sing the sad, sad song
Of how you lived so fast and died so young

So, don't push me
'Cause I'm close to the edge
I'm trying not to lose my head
Ah-huh-huh-huh
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under
Huh-ah-huh-huh-huh
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under
Huh-ah-huh-huh-huh"

"You're not afraid of anything. You're not afraid of lack β€”- because you know whatever you need, you can just intend it, & it will come your way. That's a real lesson; we talked about this. The Greeks called it 'participation in causes'; to be able to manipulate the reality around you; to be able to speak to & communicate with your surroundings, the intelligence of your day β€”- to be able to communicate with that is a wonderful gift. Not everybody has it, not everybody has access to it. But everybody can TRAIN to rise to this level."
"This is who you REALLY ARE. The core of you. That core of you is what's creating your circumstances & your situations in your life. You can communicate to the circumstances & situations in your life by communicating through the CORE of you... something pressing inside revealing its true spirit."
