One of the most successful Jamaican-American pop stars, as he popularised the Trinbagonian Caribbean musical style with an international audience in the 1950s. During the 1970s Hiphoppas mimicked James Brown’s 'Get On The Good Foot' dance steps and combined them with older, more traditional dance forms and body movements (like Capoiera martial arts), creating new individualized dance moves commonly called freestyling."
