Iran set to freeze bank accounts of women who refuse to wear a hijab

A member of the Iranian parliament has told local media the government plans to impose new punishments on women who do not wear a hijab in public, with individuals who refuse to comply after two warnings possibly having their bank accounts frozen. 

Hossein Jalali, a member of the Cultural Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, told Iranian media on Dec. 6 that “unveiled persons” would be sent an SMS urging them to respect the law and wear a hijab before entering a “warning phase” and finally having their bank account potentially frozen.

"In the third stage, the bank account of the unveiled person may be frozen."

According to court documents reviewed by TMZ, Shannon Ruth, who has autism and cerebral palsy, claims the Backstreet Boys singer, now 42, invited her onto his tour bus when she was aged 17 following the band's concert in Tacoma, Washington after spotting her waiting in the autograph line.

The legal documents state Ruth was allegedly asked if she wanted a drink - after requesting apple juice, she claims Carter offered her cranberry and gave her a 'red colored' drunk which he called 'VIP juice'.

Ruth claims the drink tasted 'off' as she drank it and says she believes it was a mix of cranberry juice and alcohol.

It was claimed by Ruth that Carter took her to the bus' bathroom and ordered her to perform oral sex on him. Ruth alleges that she was crying throughout but Carter 'kept instructing her.'

Ruth further claims Carter then took her to a bed on the bus and and continued his alleged sexual assault.
