Approximately 80,000 Ukrainian refugees are currently housed in centers such as public buildings and small hotels across Poland, according to Deputy Minister of the Interior PaweΕ Szefernaker, who warned that they cannot remain reliant on Polish handouts indefinitely.
The government wants to ensure that those still in residence in these places after 120 days can contribute up to 50 percent of the costs and gradually become self-sufficient financially so that they can support themselves in Poland.
