The more you try to escape God's work in you, the more difficult it can can become.
Sometimes the best option is to lay down your will and surrender to God in the process. This is sometimes all God wants from us: Just rest and believe. You aren't always called to get out of a situation but rather endure it.
Think of Jonah and the fish. It was better to surrender to God in the process rather than wiggle around in sheer desperation even though I'm sure that was all he wanted to do. Certain days require this strategy:
Rest.
Don't make it harder for yourself than it has to be.
You're allowed to rest even in the battle.
