“Britney Spears has been abused by the media, a grifter father, and the American justice system," the Congressman told the crowd of Britney supporters.
Update on the hearing - Britney Spears was reportedly allowed to hire her OWN lawyer which is seen as a major development and a first time she has a say in her legal representation since 2008, according to Bloomberg.
She also said she’d like to bring formal charges against her father.

DEATH TOLL rises to at least 11 in CATACLYSMIC German floods (Video)
Heavy floodwaters have ripped through Germany with police reporting at least 11 deaths; dozens more are missing, while parts of Belgium and Netherlands have also been devastated.
Record rainfall on Thursday in Germany caused rivers to burst their banks and turned streets into raging torrents – sweeping away vehicles, with buildings collapsing.
A state of emergency was declared in the Eifel region, near Cologne, after roads turned to waterways and cut off villages.
The authorities say 70 people are still missing, with unconfirmed reports putting the death toll closer to 20 – two firefighters are said to be among those who have died.
