The ego is a sort of camouflage system that living beings have. It’s a bluff, a construct that we use to keep ourselves safe.
In our culture though, we have taken this concept too far, and now we often identify ourselves as our ego.
Our relationship with the ego is very detrimental, some people even talk about killing it. But why would we wanna kill something if we really were at peace with it?
The ego is like a musical note, it can be played in the right spot at the right time.
For example, the ego of a butterfly is the pattern on its wings: the butterflies with eyes on their wings make predators think they are something other than what they are.
In the same way, humans always try to impress the other, making people think we are a certain specific character, while in reality we are nothing specific, we are in constant change in a flow of energy and information coming together.
Be friend with your ego, not enemy, otherwise you will be involved in an infinite fight with yourself.
