A few years back I received a call asking if I wanted to join Tony Robbins’ health coaching team.
I have always had a visceral, very negative reaction to Robbins’ persona, his voice, his energy, his shtick, and told the caller I wasn’t interested; he sounded dismayed (“Really? Why?”). I told him why. I think I launched with Robbins’ loud male dominating energy. The caller was even more dismayed, and begged off.
Recently, a potential client in his 70s brought up David Sinclair’s “Lifespan” and Tony Robbins’ businesses in “longevity.” I feigned ignorance which prompted the man to send me a copy of Robbins’ book! I texted back that it would be wise not to drink the Kool Aid.
With Robbins (and his uber Ivy business associates) pushing life extension 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 by way of youthful blood/umbilical chord stem cells, and gene editing, I need to be clearer with potential clients and ask:
Do you want to live longer as a transhuman, or a real human?
Robbins talks about his bum right shoulder (and back) and miraculous results from stem cell therapy. In German New Medicine, an injury to the shoulders and back is a sign of not being able to get out of the way, or step aside ... a feeling of immobilization. It is a self-devaluation conflict.
With every story about miraculous stem cell therapies, you have to wonder how long will the therapy hold? Robbins speaks and writes about the golfer Jack Nicklaus. I bicycle past Nicklaus’ offices every day, and am told that he is struggling with his health. What is the longevity of a “miracle” therapy if the root cause, such as a traumatic conflict, is never addressed?
