Once the institution (government agency) redefines a word it ceases to have its plain meaning as found in a dictionary, which is the meaning most English speakers ascribe to the word. Words like “isolation” are defined to be something different within virology. It is not the separation of a thing from everything else, but a convoluted multi-step process of culturing a cell with all kinds of foreign additives.
