You can take an amino acid like tryptophan with all good expectations that it will turn into serotonin and melatonin ... but things can go awry, and you might be making quinolytic acid instead. Which would really stink since it contributes to brain (neuro) damage, as Brandon describes. I have posted previously a list of Brandon's brain inflammation markers and how to test for them.

Quinolytic acid revs up glutamate and glycine which are (ahem) two amino acids comprising glutathione (the third is cysteine, aka NAC)
