However, this process quickly turns suspicious when participants are required to invite at least 15 others to sign up, raising red flags about the legitimacy of the application.

A video gets more than 40 thousand views on TikTok claiming to show an earthquake incident that happened on Sunday, Oct 6, 2024, captioned “An Earthquake happening now in Addis Ababa around Sumit area”.

HaqCheck analyzed the alleged video to determine its credibility and found that the original video was shared on the official Twitter account of the NHK-Japan official on March 16, 2022. HaqCheck also conducted a further satellite investigation to detect the exact footage at the 00:18 second seen in the video footage, which is the Sendai Airport in Japan."

ከሰሞኑ ከ15ሺህ በላይ ተከታይ ያለው የX ወይም በቀድሞ ስሙ ትዊተር አካውንት የቀድሞ የአማራ ብሄራዊ ንቅናቄ (አብን) የህዝብ ግንኙነት ሀላፊና የኢፌዲሪ ህዝብ ተወካዮች ም/ቤት አባል የሆኑትን እና በአሁን ሰዓት በእስር ላይ የሚገኙት አቶ ክርስትያን ታደለ በኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ ላይ ባለው አካውንታቸው ወደ 74 ሚልዮን የሚጠጋ ብር እንዳላቸው በመግለፅ የአንድ ንግድ ባንክ አካውንት ቁጥርን ከኮምፕዩተር ላይ በማንሳት አጋርቶ ነበር።

ከዚህም ባለፈ ይህ አካውንት አንድ የህዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት አባል እንዴት ይህን ያህል ገንዘብ ሊኖረው እንደቻለ ሲጠይቅ እና ከህዝብ ትወካዮች ምክር ቤት አባላት ደሞዝ ጋር ሲያወዳድረው ተመልክተናል።

ሀቅቼክ ከዚህ በፊት ይህን መረጃ በተለያዩ ጊዜያት ሲጋራ አግኝቶት የነበረ ሲሆን በወቅቱም ከ136 ሺህ በላይ ተከታዮች ባሉት የፌስቡክ ገፅ በመጋቢት 22 ቀን 2015 ዓ.ም ላይ አገኝቶት ነበር።
