Fue Hal Finney el que dijo que un atacante malicioso podría incluir una transacción de A a B (direcciones que controla) en un bloque, y meter en el mismo bloque una transacción de A a C (que no controla). Si aceptásemos 0 confirmaciones, la transacción de A a C la aceptarías pero nunca se produciría. Eso es lo que se conoce como "ataque Finney" y por eso se requiere al menos una confirmación (y lo de las 0-conf es una boutade)

Recent work by Ian Goldberg of UC Berkeley, and similar work by Doug Barnes, Hal Finney, and others, makes a truly anonymous digital cash system possible. Goldberg's scheme allows "e-cashiers" and "e-moneychangers" to disintermediate the process and ensure untraceability. Importantly, anyone can essentially become a "mint" of digital cash...."

HAL FINNEY

Harold Thomas Finney II was a genius cryptographer, hired by Phil Zimmerman to work on PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), a military-grade encryption software. Hal created the world’s first digital currency system, RPOW (Reusable Proof of Work). Hal helped Satoshi Nakamoto debug Bitcoin’s code. He was the first to receive a Bitcoin transaction. In 2009, Hal was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He died in 2014.

On how to stego pgp messages. First you have to ensure that the data you are stegoing has a rectangular distribution with even probability
of {0,1} for each bit, and apply your stego technique. Various ideas have been discussed, but as anonymous suggests this has all been
worked out for PGP 2.x before.

As anonymous describes one problem is the RSA modulus, because RSA encrypted messages are not uniformly distributed (they are < N the RSA modulus, which gives some skew especially in the distribution of the most significant bits)

Hal Finney, and Bodo Moeller and I independently came up with different algorithms to do this. Hal's algorithm (which is the better
algorithm) is to add a random multiple of N, and then the reverse operation is to assume the recipient's public key:

Cada cierto tiempo tengo la costumbre de releer ciertos documentos, para comparar lo que comprendo hoy, con relación a lo que entendí la última vez que lo leí, evidentemente deben ser documentos originales de gente original, este es uno de esos casos, donde hoy lo que voy leyendo de Hal y las explicaciones que voy recibiendo de Craig, hacen que muchas piezas encajen.

Para evitar, que por algún motivo pueda desaparecer, dejo una copia del documento original y una traducción al castellano en la blockchain.
