One of the things that annoys me most is that people fall for common logical fallacies such as ad hominem.
Anyone who has the ability to think rationally will not care about the individual but rather the outcome
In politics, people talk about politicians having associations with business and say that this must necessarily be bad. It isn't. As long as the transactions are open there is nothing wrong with a politician who was also a businessman. As long as the bidding process is open, then there is no issue.
In fact, having politicians who are business people used to be the norm and it helps encourage economic reasoning in this group
The same thing occurs in my case and that of others like me.
We can then extend that to false authority, another logical fallacy
People have come to think that individuals are experts merely for longevity in this field. You are never an expert because you've been in the field for a period of time. An expert can develop in a year or may not develop in twenty years. Expertise is not a function of experience alone
Individual such as Antonopoulos or Eric Voorhees are recognised as experts merely because they were around when I launched bitcoin or just afterwards
That's not a foundation of expertise.
Many individuals attack my qualifications - but if you took the time to think about this there is a reason behind those attacks
none of these individuals have qualifications
none of the individuals being referenced as experts in cryptography or cryptographers are qualified in any way as a cryptographer
A cryptographer is not somebody who has worked developing software code.
Although it is possible that a cryptographer good learn to code, it is not essential in any way for a cryptographer to ever code in their life
Not one individual that I've seen referenced as an expert in bitcoin who is noted to be a cryptographer is qualified to be in an introductory role as a cryptographer
And I'm not making the statement idly
And community is irrelevant here
There are no community standards of being a cryptographer
Equally, even Hal Finney was not even a computer scientist let alone a cryptographer.
It is true that he had worked in the early days in the PGP Corporation.
He worked for a cryptographer.
He developed code for a cryptography company
But that does not make him either a computer scientist or a cryptographer
Dan Kaminsky has been called a cryptographer. The guy has had no real experience of cryptography anywhere in his life
Adam back is referenced as both an expert in distributed systems and a cryptographer
He has no basis in either field
Both Antonopoulos and Voorhees were practically or already homeless when they came to bitcoin.
Voorhees was to my knowledge living out of the back of his car. Antonopoulos was effectively unemployable. This is why these individuals are making up a false narrative about expertise. This is why I am such a threat to them.
I will graduate with at least three more degrees this year.
on top of that one or two more postgraduate certificates and diplomas
next year I will graduate with another 8 to 10 degrees

Oh, by the way - Hal Finney patented all the time
https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/2a/5e/59/da3ca44b7bf7eb/WO2008105941A2.pdf
And, commercially - not as a blocking patent

Forwarded from 395 361 Wei Dai - BMoney - prebitcoin (@RamonQuesada 🌷)
"Prof Wrightson knew of Wei Dai, and pointed me towards a paper titled “Knowledge-Based Communication Processes in Building Design” that he knew of because of his work in machine learning. Both Adam Back and Prof Wrightson directed me to Wei Dai. 戴维 turned out to be another cypherpunk, and he was an incredibly helpful one. I used some of his code in the original release of Bitcoin — with his permission. Andreas Furche knew of Hal Finney and Adam Back. So I emailed people. I was researching in 2005, and came to the conclusion that I could build something. By 2007, I was ready to start".

yes, this was in one of the other threads and yes it ignores everything I set about bitcoin
Basically, there were two versions of b-money and the concept of CryptoCredits
CryptoCredits was the internal currency of the proposed blacknet system.
people like Tim and Wei wanted the first version
http://www.weidai.com/bmoney.txt
if you read this, you will see that there is a first and the second protocol
these are not compatible
The first protocol was designed for untraceable money. The second was discarded and never followed up because it allows for traceability, this is what was added into bitcoin to make it bitcoin.
Bitcoin was never designed to be the first protocol
I never intended it to be the first
others including Bear want to system for crypto anarchy, I do not.
and, the thing they don't seem to get is there is a dialectic between bitcoin and they are complete opposites. You cannot modify bitcoin, it only works in the format of the second protocol and this is all that I worked on to make work
the bit that was always missing was the economics of the system
the reality was they were not interested
I don't need to punish people as Wei and others believed, I simply have them as commercial entities.
they want crypto anarchy
I just created a system that uses competing companies
if you read the second protocol you'll see that it's bitcoin minus the economic incentives
https://ia600208.us.archive.org/10/items/cyphernomicon/cyphernomicon.txt
Both Hal and Bear.
And, As usual I missed this
Both of them wanted b-money protocol 1.
Both wanted, not-Bitcoin.
But, I thought Hal knew what he was doing and telling me and I listened, and was foolish enough not to trust myself.
I believed people when they told me Bitcoin was flawed
The truth, it was fine. The flaw was my willingness to listen and not to dogmatically hold onto my original concept tighter.

Hello Dave…
Hal Finney was an amazing man in many ways. Without him, Bitcoin would not exist today. Hal is a far better coder than I will ever hope...
Hal Finney
Hal Finney (May 4, 1956 – August 28, 2014) was a developer for PGP Corporation until it was acquired by Symantec in 2010. PGP, which stands for Pretty Good Privacy, was a popular, freely available cryptography tool developed in the 1990s for use in email and other applications. He was an early contributor for Bitcoin software.
