Psalm 2:1-5.βWhy do the heathen rage, And the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying,
Let us break their bands asunder, And cast away their cords from us.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: The Lord shall have them in derision.
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, And vex them in his sore displeasure.β
Psalms 3:4-7.βI was crying to the Lord with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.
I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about.
Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.β
Matthew 4:8-10.βAgain, the devil *took Him to a very high mountain and *showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
and he said to Him, βAll these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.β
Then Jesus *said to him, βGo, Satan! For it is written, βYou shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.β ββ
