Matthew 27:24-25.βWhen Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, βI am innocent of this Manβs blood; see to that yourselves.β
And all the people said, βHis blood shall be on us and on our children!ββ
Isaiah 45:5-7.βI am the Lord, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God. I will gird you, though you have not known Me;
That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other,
The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the Lord who does all these.β
Psalms 63:1-4.βO God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You.
So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.β
2 Peter 3:3-9.βKnow this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,
and saying, βWhere is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.β
For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water,
through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.
But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.β
Psalms 15:1-5.βO Lord, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill?
He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart.
He does not slander with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honors those who fear the Lord; He swears to his own hurt and does not change;
He does not put out his money at interest, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.β
