Psalter Group Sign Up
This year, with the blessing of Metropolitan Gregory, we are organizing a Psalter Group at Saint Markโs that is open to all HOCNA.
Psalter Group is a wonderful, simple way to add extra prayer to our day and for us to pray together even though we may be far apart.
The goal of the Psalter Group is to pray the entire psalter every day of Great Lent - AS A GROUP.
Each Psalter Group member will be assigned a starting Kathisma number* and read at the time and in the place of your choosing, at your convenience.
Many people simply incorporate their daily Kathisma reading into their regular prayer routine.
As an example:
Maria S is assigned to start with Kathisma 10 on March 7th.
She will then read Kathisma 11 on March 8, Kathisma 12 on March 9 and so on until she reaches Kathisma 20 after which she will loop back to Kathisma 1 and continue on.
In this way, our Psalter Group will read the entire psalter once every day.
And at the end of Great Lent, we will all individually have read the entire psalter twice.
Please sign up by THURSDAY, MARCH 3rd - just reply to this post with your name!
Assignments will be posted here on Telegram Friday, March 4th.
*The Psalter is broken down into 20 kathismata - groups of psalms that can be read at one sitting (kathisma/kathisei)
You can purchase a pocket sized psalter from HTM or online at https://www.bostonmonks.com/product_info.php/products_id/888
An online psalter is available at

Beloved Christians,
As the horrific invasion of Ukraine continues, so does the suffering of the people there.
I am in touch with our Father Andrii in Shipitivka as well as with the faithful in Lyubashobka. Thanks be to God, the war has not touched the parts of Ukraine where they are, at least for now. But the difficult conditions of a country that is under a bloody siege affects everyone there.
That is why I would like to call for a general collection of funds for the needs of our families in Ukraine. If you can help with any amount of alms, please do so. You can send a check written out to โHOMBโ and earmarked โUkraineโ to this address:

If you would like to use PayPal or any other electronic form or payment, please let me know.
May God bless you for your generosity.
In Christ,
+ Gregory, met.

FORGIVENESS SUNDAY
Beloved Christians,
We are standing at the gates of the Holy and Great Fast, which is the time of renewed spiritual struggles. Let us use this holy season to remember those among our brothers and sisters who are in extreme danger and suffering.
To this end, I have compiled a list of names of our faithful in Ukraine, as well as of the pious people there who are very close to us, so that we may commemorate them.
Members of our Church:
Saint Cyril and Methodius Parish in Shepetivka: Presbyter Andrii with his children, Tamara, Maxim, Pavel, Irina, Nadezhda, Andrii;
Holy Royal Martyrs Parish in Lyubashivka: Sergey, Galina, their children Evgenii, Yulia, Maxim, Anna, Alexandra and Sophia; Lyudmila, Tatiana, Peter, Roman, Vladimir, Pavel, Alexander; Catherine.
Pious Christians close to our Church:
Elizaveta; Evtratios; Elizaveta, George, Kira & Sophia
Konstantine and those with him; Job and those with him; Savvatii and those with him.
It is also necessary that we pray for our people in Russia, who, no doubt, will go through very hard times too:
Our Bishop Spyridon and his whole Diocese
Presbyter Sergey, Deacon Dionisy with families and flock in Saint Petersburg
Presbyter Vyacheslav, family and flock in Kursk
Presbyter Dimitry, family and flock in Anapa
Our prayers should not stop there but should also extend to all the victims of this terrible war - the fallen, the wounded, the widows, the orphans, the homeless and the refugees.
May our Saviour hear our prayers and shine His merciful countenance on the suffering people. Amen.
Using this opportunity, I also would like to ask for your forgiveness. May God forgive us all.
With love in Christ,
+ Gregory, Metropolitan of Boston
