Abundant spiritual wisdom in just five pages.
Many times we ask ourselves as to why we do not see the signs of spiritual progress in ourselves.
Here Saint Macarius explains how God, knowing each personβs heart, disposes in His wisdom, who at what stage should see the fruits of their spiritual labours.
Homily XXIX of Saint Macarius the Great β a must read.

Beloved Faithful,
Today, on the Feast of Saint Seraphim, the Wonderworker of Sarov, my dear mother was tonsured into monasticism and became Mother Barbara, nun and pilgrimess.
Her tonsure was a very joyous occasion for the whole Parish of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Thank you all for your prayers, that I lived to see my dear mother become a nun!

Holy Theophany of our Lord, God and Saviour Jesus Christ
Matthew III, 13-17
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad Him, saying, I have need to be baptized of Thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him. And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water, and, lo, the Heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him: And lo a voice from Heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.

~A New Priest in Greece~
On Sunday after Theophany, January 9/22, 2023, at the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Tbilisi, Georgia, Presbyter Sotirios Prasinos from Athens Greece was received into our Church.
Father Sotirios knows our monastery in Boston since 2015. He belonged to the New Calendar Church of Greece but had the desire to be part of our Church, because of our Confession of Faith and because of the right spirit that he found in our Church with regard to many contemporary issues in the Orthodox world.
Father Sotirios has eight children (he was accompanied in Georgia by his eldest son Apostolos). He also has faithful back in Greece that are waiting for his return in order to be received by him into the Holy Church.
God grant Father Sotirios strength to faithfully serve in the Church of Christ for many years to come. Amen.
