Why we need to talk about the "Cipro-NSAID" connection.
 
There is a potentially dangerous interaction between floroquinolones and NSAIDs

THE MECHANISM
Fluoroquinolones can inhibit GABA-our brain's primary inhibitory neurotransmitter. When you add an NSAID into the mix, this effect is amplified.

THE RISK
This synergy doesn't just cause "jitters." It significantly lowers the seizure threshold and can lead to severe CNS excitation, tremors, or anxiety-even in patients with no history of neurological issues.

PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS
1.      Avoid unnecessary NSAID use during fluoroquinolone therapy.
2.      Use Paracetamol when appropriate.
3.      Monitor for CNS symptoms.
4.      Use caution in patients with seizure disorders or kidney disease.
