The PRCS has said that only seven out of 18 ambulances are operating in Gaza City and the northern areas, and that these vehicles are, in turn, liable to stop working because of a lack of fuel.

“Our teams are seeing tens of Palestinians who were killed or injured and they can’t reach them because our ambulances are being targeted by the Israeli military,” the PRCS said.

Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Khan Younis, says fighting and bombardment are taking place in Gaza’s north as well as the “safe zone” in the south.

In central Gaza, Israeli air strikes hit residential buildings in the al-Nuseirat refugee camp, and in the south similar attacks took place in the Khan Younis and Rafah districts.

The Rafah district was “bombarded in the last couple of hours” and a residential building has been completely “leveled to the ground”, Abu Azzoum said. At least 10 Palestinians have been reported killed.

According to Abu Azzoum, people who fled northern Gaza seeking safety in the south have said they are witnessing the same level of bombardment.

“No safe place in the territory as Israel continues to pound the whole Gaza Strip,” he said.
