We wanted to take a moment to talk openly about one of our projects that’s had a bit of heat around it recently. Gulpr.

Gulpr is a SloshDog project that’s been in the works for quite a long time. Some of you might remember it from a few years back when it originally started life as an art gallery sharing website. Back then we were even hiring web designers to help build it out.
Over time, the project evolved and pivoted into what it is now: a vore focused social app.

We understand the frustration around the invite system. When we launched, we handed out just 8 codes to people who helped us alpha test. Our honest assumption was that it would grow slowly and give us time to scale alongside it. In hindsight, yeah, that was pretty naive.

Within 24 hours it completely blew past anything we expected. We suddenly had hundreds of active users and thousands more trying to sign up all at once.

Because of that, we’ve seen accusations flying around such as
• being a scam
• selling user data
• intentionally creating FOMO
• paywalling core features

We want to be very clear: none of that was the intention.
There was no marketing scheme, no artificial hype plan, no attempt to trick people. We gave codes to our alpha testers as a thank you, and the community did what communities do best and shared it fast.

We’re a small team juggling multiple SloshDog projects, and Gulpr growing this quickly caught us off guard. We’re now focused on stabilising things, scaling properly, and making sure we do right by the people already using it and those waiting to join.

We genuinely appreciate the support, excitement, and patience. Please bear with us while we handle the sudden influx and get things into a better place.

Hi everyone,
This isn’t an easy post for us to write, but we want to be open and honest with you.

We have decided to take Gulpr offline for the time being and continue working on it in private.

We want to explain that Gulpr was always a very small app between a small group of friends and testers. It was never meant to be launched at scale. As you can probably guess, what was meant to be a small, contained project has exploded in ways that were never envisioned. The issue is that it has done so very quickly, and we’re just not able to adjust to that level of growth in a reasonable timeframe without it negatively impacting us as a team.

We want to be clear that this isn’t us saying that Gulpr is a failure or that we’re abandoning the project. We’re working hard on plans to bring Gulpr back in a healthier and more sustainable way. This includes moving away from the invite only model altogether, so that when Gulpr is brought back, it can be done so in a way that makes sense and isn’t confusing or pressurised.

To all the patrons that supported us on Patreon, thank you. Thank you. You had no idea how much that meant to us. We’re pausing all Patreon payments.

The current situation has taken a real toll on our mental health. We’re not equipped to handle this level of demand or intensity right now, and pushing forward in this state wouldn’t be healthy for anyone involved.

we want to ask that no one directs any hate, anger, or aggression towards anyone. There’s no one to be mad at. We’re just a team that got put into a position we never expected, and the best thing for everyone is for us to take a step back.

Thanks to all the people who tested our stuff, shared feedback, and showed us love and support for what we were trying to create. We appreciate it, even if this isn’t the outcome any of us expected.

Byte RPG Is Now Open for Testing

We have opened the doors to Byte RPG for Gulpr supporters to help pass the time while we work on upcoming updates.

Byte is a silly little Discord based RPG we have been tinkering with, and we will be adding more content and features to it soon.
