8️⃣ Марта совсем скоро !!!

Hello, dear friends!

This post is about us . About us, women, and our

🔤🔤🔤🔤🌷🔤

The book caught my eye by its bright cover and the title " СИЯТЬ ВСЕГДА " made me stop. I've always loved Spa, skincare and fresh cosmetics recipes, hair-maintenance and so called " DIY beauty and wellness " books and magazines.

Stephanie Gerber wrote " Hello Glow" for us in 2016 .A huge thank you to her 👍

In
Hello Glow, we are introduced to the world of home spa treatments. Gerber shares the benefits of using natural ingredients and essential oils in our beauty routines. She explains the process of creating a relaxing spa environment at home, including setting the mood with music and lighting.

Gerber begins with a variety of facial treatments, such as the
Brightening Geranium Moisturizer, which contains geranium essential oil,
and
the Cranberry Lip Gloss + Cheek Stain.
She also includes a Balance Rosemary-Thyme Toner, which I desperately want to try making.

Body Care

Moving on to body care,
Hello Glow offers a range of body scrubs, oils, and lotions.

A Revitalizing Herbal Detox Body Wrap ( обертывание ) using bentonite clay, and a Cellulite-Smoothing Kiwi Scrub are among the treatments.

Stephanie Gerber also shares recipes for creating your own

sunscreen
solid perfume
bath bombs ( бомбочки для принятия ванн )

In the
hair care section, Gerber provides recipes for natural shampoo, hair masks, and scalp treatments.
She explains the benefits of using ingredients like rosemary, coconut oil, and ginger for healthy hair. She also includes a
Color-Enhancing Hair Mask which uses hibiscus flowers to enhance natural hair color.

Wellness and Self-Care

Beyond the physical aspects of beauty,
Hello Glow also focuses on wellness and self-care. Gerber advocates for mindfulness and self-compassion as essential elements of beauty.

She suggests incorporating practices like meditation, gratitude journaling, and digital detox into our daily routines.

Furthermore, Gerber highlights the importance of a healthy diet for glowing skin and hair. She includes a section on beauty-boosting foods and shares recipes for nutritious smoothies and snacks.

DIY Beauty Products

One of the highlights of
Hello Glow is the extensive collection of DIY beauty product recipes. Gerber provides step-by-step instructions for making your own natural cosmetics.

It's really nice that the book is available in Russian too. I bought it and it shines my days , and I'm sure that it might be a fantastic present 🎁 for the Women's Day

Yes, this book made sense to me !!

Hello, my friends!

Jazz was playing all the way I had been reading the book for 2 weeks , with pencil highlights and a high degree of self-awareness and self-care. It is the first time in my life since I've felt self-compassion and a deep connection with my TRUE self. It wasn't as though it was Terri Cole's book only , but many months of conscious inner work for getting to know myself better. It is hard. It is self- sabotage. But it is the only way to finally meet myself and charge life with happiness and joy.

https://litres.com/book/terri-cole/boundary-boss-71281888/

"Boundary Boss" by Terri Cole explores the essential role of boundaries in creating healthy relationships and fostering self-respect.
It provides practical strategies for establishing personal boundaries, emphasizing that effective communication is key to asserting one's needs and desires.
She draws on her experience as a psychotherapist to guide readers through the process of overcoming fears

💫 A legendary film for your Sunday evening 💫

" THE APARTMENT " Квартира (1960) by Billy Wilder , a genious film director!

The Apartment is a one of a kind comedy that never descends into cheap comedy or any sentimental manipulation. You’ll be engaged into the lives of Baxter,an ordinary accountant in the office jungles, and Fan,the girl he wants to get, all the way.

A classic ending that feels real and is pitched perfectly by a writer/director at the top of his game.

If you’re sick of clichéd love stories ,then watch this black and white movie.

📌5 Oscars
📌A mad box office success
📌Superb acting
📌Truly cleverly written scenario
📌Makes the outside chaotic world stop and sit still for a couple of hours )

The movie watching is the best therapist. I believe in it.

If you have any film suggestions, leave them in the comments 🙏

Have a soulful Sunday time with a quality cinema!

Love,
Yulia ❤️

👇 Superficial and fickle interactions between us
👇Friendships need commitment and real-life contributions instead of a ridiculous texting
👇What's happened to friendships in the last decades ?
👇Laziness .... Just emoji feels instead of real " You" ....

And more than that what I'm thinking about afterwards

Great thought-provoking video by Laura ... a wake-up call !

Have a sunny Sunday !🌞

With love to you all,

💫 What are you reading now ? 💫

🔥Spoiler warning : leave the film reviews virginally clean of plot details . Possible ? ))

This is what has been planned for my CAE and IELTS adult students for tomorrow's lessons.

We'll look at the issue from multiple perspectives, and I'd love to know their takes on it . I'm excited! And no spoilers in this post besides the article link for everybody who's studying English.

Have a meaningful week, friends!

Love,
Yulia ❤️

The little things can be the most precious parts of life. I wholeheartedly believe in this

The  slice-of-life books are those written to show the beauty of life in all its everyday details, even mundane ones.

It is a special narrative technique ,which has the same name " a slice of life storytelling " , when there's nothing going on ,as if we walk slowly through characters' lives accompanied by them.

One of the best examples of a slice of life books is a Japanese one " Хроники странствующего кота ".

Like my favourite Japanese writers, such as Kazuo Ishiguro, for example, Hiro Arikawa has the unparalleled ability to turn something so ordinary and everyday into otherworldly magic.

" The Traveling cat Chronicles" works its way into heart as a warm-hearted and life-affirming celebration of how the smallest things can provide the greatest joy.

I was reading the book melting in the joy of peaceful moments of my life . If you life now reminds a roller coaster, this is it - a slice of life story

❤️❤️❤️

" The power of regret" is not a performative reading! It makes you find your best self ✨️

"
This is a book about regret—the stomach-churning feeling
that the present would be better and the future brighter if only
you hadn’t chosen so poorly, decided so wrongly, or acted so stupidly in the past.
Over the next thirteen chapters, I hope
you’ll see regret in a fresh and more accurate light, and learn to enlist its shape-shifting powers as a force for good...."

" The power of regret" was published in 2022.

285 pages / Level of English : B2 / C1

It is a descriptive, spoken language what makes the book hard to read with a lower language level.

For me, the book has a provocative look at the common understanding of regrets in our lives, but it is a piercing psychological inquiry which convinces me to keep reading. The writer breathes individual life into the narrative, with examples and breaking stereotypes

With love and care,
Yulia ❤️

🔥 How the visionary impresario’s revolutionary ballet company took the Paris of Pablo Picasso and Coco Chanel by storm!

🔥A wonderful , absolutely immersive read for anybody who wants to fully understand Ballet heritage.

The story of Serge Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes has been told many times before, but no one is able to master it more engagingly than Rupert Christiansen, the opera critic and self-confessed “incurable balletomane”.

He comes to his subject with a head stuffed full not just of grands jetés,but also all the gossip and scandal that trailed in Diaghilev’s life.
Everyone in early 20th-century artistic Europe was attached to Serge.
Pablo Picasso and Léon Bakst did scenery while Chanel consulted on the wardrobe. The choreographers were Michel Fokine, Léonide Massine and George Balanchine. Then there were the dancers: Vaslav Nijinsky , Anna Pavlova, etc.

The book is worth being on the bookshelves of any person who is a compulsive, avid reader

I personally fell in love with the book ❤️

🌻What are you reading at the moment? 🌻

I'm savouring each and every page of the compilation of short fiction by Jeong Yi-heyon

The book was patiently waiting for me on my son's bookshelf. Each book knows its time and place in our lives.

Have a warm weekend ❤️
( despite autumn-like cold here in my city... brrŕrrr )

" In life,you're either a winner or a loser "

A wonderful cinematic experience, although a bit one-sided, but it doesn't spoil anything!

MICHAEL ( released in April,2026) is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known.

The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson Five, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.

🔥The part of Michael Jackson in adulthood is played by his nephew Jaafar Jackson!

👇In the comments, I'll leave the pdf of poetry + essays written by Michael Jackson

With love,
Your Yulia ❤️
