Hello people,

this message is mainly directed at those who are running their own instance of Group Butler.

Tomorrow at 12:30 UTC I will push an update that will fix a critical bug. It's strongly recomended to update your own Group Butler if you don't want your bot to be exposed to the security bug the update is going to fix.

If you don't run a Group Butler but you are reading this message, don't worry, @GroupButler_bot and @GBReborn_bot have already been updated. You don't have to do anything.
The bots are having some troubles retrieving the updates. Hopefully will be fixed soonโ„ข, as the tokens have been revoked and apparently this fixed the problem.

About the recent, frequent, connection problems the bot had during the past weeks that were making them unresponsive: the problem is *not* related to the amount of messages the bots are processing, it's a connection problem happening on our side, which I haven't been able to fix/overcome yet, but there will be news about this soon. Hopefully
As the bots are having serious issues keeping up with the messages and have been working intermittently yesterday and for the past hours, please use @gbdummy1_bot (instead of Group Butler) and @gbdummy2_bot (instead of Group Butler beta). They are temporary bots that will be turned off once issues has been solved.

They are running on the same server of the normal bots, and using the same database, meaning they still have your data. You just have to add them to your chat. Please do not remove the normal bots, it is important to let them receive the same amount of messages they are receiving now, otherwise it wouldn't be possible to understand how to handle rate limits better
We have added more languages to the translation list.

Once a language reaches a reasonable amount of progress, it will be enabled on GroupButler.
Update

- Translations got updated
- Romanian language is now supported
- Chinese is now split into Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional
Update

- /pin will now pin messages automatically

Due to a billing problem of our server provider, our servers were turned off today. This caused a few hours of outage, since it corrupted the databases of two bots and our internal monitoring system. The database has been repaired without any data loss and everything should be running smoothly again now.

We apologize for the inconvienience.
Update

We have deployed a possible fix for the inconvenient bug that made GroupButler speak random languages at random times.
Outages of our provider corrupted databases today at 10:00 and again at 14:00 UTC. We are working on repair and and an automatic repair solution for the future.
Things seem to have stabilized now. Thanks for your patience.
Update

- Translation system should stop confusing the chat language
- Minor backend improvements on username caching
Update

- Hebrew language added.

Thank you for everyone who has been contributing to and using Group Butler. We wish everyone a happy new year ๐Ÿฅณ

If we donโ€™t get enough proofreading contributions on languages listed to be removed, unfortunately weโ€™re going to disable them until they get enough proofreading to be re-enabled again. The deadline is 31/03/2019.

It is very important that we go through this process to ensure that weโ€™re delivering quality localizations for the users.

Also, remember that localization, just like Group Butler development, is volunteer work, so we would like to give a big thank you to all past, current and future contributors.

As it has already been explained, we had to disable some languages from Group Butler.

All strings are still available on our Crowdin Project. As soon as we find proofreaders to review these locales we can re-enable them.

You can help translate Group Butler at https://crowdin.com/project/group-butler

If your language already has a lot of translations but they are not getting approved, ask to become a proofreader at @gbtranslators
Good news everyone!

Romanian ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด locales have been added back.

A big thank you for all contributors.
