‼️ The Chora Monastery was built in the 4th century AD, predating Islam in at least 200 years. The Turkish President himself decided that the monastery was to be converted into a mosque shortly after he had also decided that Hagia Sofia should be converted into a mosque
‼️ The Chora Monastery is known for having some of the most beautiful and well preserved mosaics and frescoes from Byzantine times to survive the test of time.
