Updates to Safe Management Measures

The Multi-Ministry Taskforce has announced the following updates to Safe Management Measures with effect from 1 January 2022:

▪️ 50% of the employees who can work from home will be allowed to return to the office. Social gatherings at the workplace will continue to be disallowed.

▪️ Recovered persons from COVID-19 who are not fully vaccinated will only be given a 180-day exemption after infection to enter settings where Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) are implemented.

▪️ Removal of concession for unvaccinated individuals to perform a pre-event test (PET) in lieu of being fully vaccinated.

VDS settings will be expanded further with effect from 1 February 2022. Subsidies for sectors on mandatory Rostered Routined Testing (RRT) will be extended to 31 March 2022.

Strengthening Resilience against Omicron Variant

😷 Enhanced Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS)
➡️ From 1 Feb 2022, VDS extended to:
🔹 All events, irrespective of pax
🔹 Indoor sports facilities, Institutes of Higher Learning and leisure guests in hotels, serviced apartments & hostels
➡️ From 1 Jan 2022, VDS exemption for non-vaccinated COVID-19 recovered persons will be reduced from 270 to 180 days

💻 From 1 Jan 2022, 50% of employees who can WFH can return to office
🔹 Must be fully vaccinated

🔹 Walk-in to any Moderna vaccination centre w/o an appointment if you are ≥18 y.o. & your last vaccination was at least 5 months ago

🔹 Those fully vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccines are encouraged to take Moderna as their booster for added protection
➡️ Moderna booster has a slight edge in reducing the risk of COVID-19 infection

🏡 Seniors can visit mobile vaccination sites in heartlands for their booster shots

Adjusting our approach to manage Omicron variant

Managing Omicron cases under current Protocols 1-2-3
🔷 From 27 Dec 2021, no need for isolation in dedicated facilities
1️⃣ Those unwell: See a doctor
2️⃣ Those well but test positive: Self-test and isolate, discharge after 72 hrs if test negative
3️⃣ Close contacts: Issued 7-day Health Risk Warning

🚫 From 15 Jan 2022, those unvaccinated cannot return to workplace, even with negative PET result

👉 If 2nd Sinovac-CoronaVac dose ≥ 3 mths ago (at selected VCs)

👍 Encouraged to take mRNA vaccine unless medically ineligible to do so

😷 Cases managed based on severity of symptoms & health status. From 6 Jan:

1️⃣ If unwell: See a doctor
🔹 Severe cases or those at risk will be issued 10/14 day Isolation Order depending on vax status
2️⃣ Those well or assessed with mild symptoms: Self-isolate & discharge after 72 hrs if test -ve
