谷歌宣布3月15日开始限制Chromium浏览器访问私有Chrome API
除了主观上的差异外，基于Chromium的浏览器在底层体验和Chrome浏览器上基本相同。在最近一次代码审查中，谷歌发现第三方Chromium浏览器的用户可以访问Chrome保留的数据和其他同步功能。为此，谷歌决定从今年3月15日开始限制对私有ChromeAPI的访问。

成员包括亚马逊、Google 和苹果等主要科技公司 Alliance for Open Media（AOMedia）联盟在 2018 年释出了开源免专利费的编解码器 AOMedia Video Codec 1.0 (AV1)。但其普及度至今十分缓慢，也许在 2021 年它的推广可能会加速，Google 据报道 已经强制要求 3 月 31 日之后发布的所有新 Android TV 设备支持 AV1 视频解码。据报道最近发布的 4K HDR Android TV 设备已经使用了兼容 AV1 的 SoC，如联发科的 T30/T31/T32 或 Realtek RTD2851M。TCL 的 X915 8K TV 就支持 AV1 解码，它使用的 SoC 是 RTD2851M。
