💸 The halving will occur tonight / during the day (America). What's next?

For those who may miraculously not know what a halving is, let me explain briefly: it is a process where the reward for miners for mining a block is reduced by half. This time, the reward will decrease to 3.125 $BTC.

Why are crypto enthusiasts waiting for this event? Because mining Bitcoin becomes more difficult, and therefore, there are fewer new Bitcoins. As known, a battle for any limited resource will eventually ensue, and there are just over 19 million Bitcoins.

Interestingly, the halving occurs every four years and has always coincided with the U.S. presidential election years. Each time, within a year after the halving, we have witnessed a bull run and a price pump:

• 2012 Halving – from 13 to ~1000 dollars in 2013 (76x)
• 2016 Halving – from 640 to 17k dollars in 2017 (26x)
• 2020 Halving – from 8k to 69k in 2021 (8x)

However, immediately after the halving, nothing significant happens: the price continues to hold steady, and sometimes even drops. Therefore, in the short term, expecting any significant price pumps might not be prudent, at least based on historical data.

In the medium term, it's reasonable to expect Bitcoin to reach 100k+, as historically the price increase has always occurred and has been driven by information events and various global happenings.

In this cycle, the most significant growth driver has been the Bitcoin ETF. Because of it, we even broke historical highs before the halving.

However, this cycle might be different, as the market is growing wider, with more projects reaching billion-dollar valuations, and money from Bitcoin ETFs will not flow into altcoins as usual. At least because of these two factors, it would be wise to properly formulate or adjust your plan for altcoins.

As I said earlier, I expect 2024 to be extremely positive, especially in the fall when there will be euphoria around altcoins. That's it.
