🤔 ETH ETF Approved, But There's a Catch

Yesterday was quite volatile. At the close of the US markets, ETH dropped by 6.6% in 23 seconds following a $100M spot sale, while everyone awaited news about the approval of an ETH ETF.

🖥 However, the positive news came with a caveat, which prevented an immediate surge:

- The approval for the ETH ETF was granted under form 19b-4s, but for trading to commence, approval under form S-1s is required.
- The approval was issued by the Trading and Markets division to avoid publishing the voting results within the SEC.
- The commissioner might introduce additional hurdles for the approval of form S-1s.

Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas (the one who tweeted about the forecast change of approval odds from 25% to 75%, which added $70B to ETH’s market cap on Monday) provides the following arguments:

- The SEC will not be able to reverse its position by 180 degrees.
- A two-step approval process is standard practice for the SEC.
- The immediate surge didn't occur due to Monday's spike.
