British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived in Beijing on Wednesday to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, hoping to restore long fraught relations.

It is the first visit to China by a UK prime minister since 2018 and follows a string of Western leaders courting Beijing in recent weeks, pivoting from a mercurial United States.

Starmer, who is also expected to visit Shanghai on Friday, will later make a brief stop in Japan to meet with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

For Xi, the trip is an opportunity to show Beijing can be a reliable partner at a time when President Donald Trump’s policies have rattled historic ties between Washington and its Western allies.

Starmer will meet with Xi for lunch on Thursday, followed by a meeting with Premier Li Qiang.

AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH:
(WHAT JESUS WAS REALLY WARNING ABOUT)
When Jesus said, “As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man” (Luke 17:26), He was not giving a vague comparison. He was pointing His listeners back to a very specific moment in Genesis when God intervened directly in human history.
Most people assume Jesus was referring only to violence, immorality, or people being spiritually asleep. But those conditions exist in every generation. The days of Noah were unique for a far more serious reason.
Genesis 6 describes a collapse of God’s created order. Heavenly beings abandoned their proper domain. Flesh became corrupted. Boundaries God established between heaven and earth, between kinds, and between creator and creation were deliberately crossed. The result was the rise of the Nephilim and a world no longer operating within God’s design.
Scripture is careful with its wording. Genesis 6:12 does not say only that humanity became wicked. It says that all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth. This was not merely behavioral sin. It was corruption at the level of creation itself.
Jude later confirms this by explaining that certain angels left their assigned habitation and pursued what was not theirs. He directly associates their sin with the pursuit of “strange flesh.” These angels are now held in chains, awaiting judgment, because what they did was so severe it threatened God’s redemptive plan.
When Jesus referenced the days of Noah, He was warning that similar conditions would exist before His return. Not simply moral decay, but a renewed assault on God’s boundaries. A world that blurs distinctions God declared good. A generation that treats limits as obstacles rather than safeguards.
The Flood was God’s response the last time this happened. It was not random. It was not excessive. It was judgment mixed with mercy, preserving Noah and his family so that God’s promise could continue.
Jesus’ words were not meant to entertain curiosity. They were meant to awaken discernment.
The days of Noah were marked by boundary violation.
The response was judgment.
That warning still stands.

Read Jude carefully.
Take Jesus’ words seriously.
