It's now being reported that Qatar served as the backchannel for Donald Trump to Iran. This is something I've been speculating for the past year, citing the Saudi-Qatari War of 2017, which conveniently resolved just days before Trump left office.

US Vice President JD Vance has slammed the Israeli leadership, calling on the Jewish state to remember that the United States remains its "only powerful ally" in the world.
“What I will say, and this does bother me, is that you have seen people within Bibi [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu] cabinet who have come out and attacked the deal, and in some ways very personally attacked the President of the United States," Vance said.
“The problem for Israel is not Donald J. The reports of Trump contacting Netanyahu's opposition may be true, but they are more likely stories planted by the Trump admin in order to further deepen the divide within Israel and push Netanyahu over the edge. The fact remains that there are no "anti-war" political parties in Israel. Just different flavors of deception as it relates to masking the warmongering.
You should know that it was Trump who manipulated Netanyahu into the unholy alliance he now holds with Israel's most radical political element--so radical that they weren't even lawfully allowed to serve in the Knesset until Netanyahu amended a law regarding Jewish Supremacy in 2022 to allow them to return to politics.
Trump achieved this by doing an interview with @BarakRavid in December 2021 (which only aired in Israeli media) where Trump claimed to be backing Netanyahu rival Benny Gantz, asking why Bibi was even still in politics. (See video) This drove more moderates (many had already abandoned Bibi) away from Netanyahu, which forced him to reach out to the disciples of [deceased Jewish terrorist] Meir Kahane (Smotrich + Ben-Gvir) and forge a political alliance.
