"Our elites badly miscalculated America’s willingness to shoulder forever global burdens to which the American people saw no connection to the national interest...And they lashed American policy to a network of international institutions, some of which are driven by outright anti-Americanism and many by a transnationalism that explicitly seeks to dissolve individual state sovereignty."

"First and foremost, we want the continued survival and safety of the United States as an independent, sovereign republic whose government secures the God-given natural rights of its citizens and prioritizes their well-being and interests."

"We want to protect this country, its people, its territory, its economy, and its way of life from military attack and hostile foreign influence, whether espionage, predatory trade practices, drug and human trafficking, destructive propaganda and influence operations, cultural subversion, or any other threat to our nation."

"We want to maintain the United States’ unrivaled “soft power” through which we exercise positive influence throughout the world that furthers our interests."

"The United States will unapologetically protect our own sovereignty. This includes preventing its erosion by transnational and international organizations, attempts by foreign powers or entities to censor our discourse or curtail our citizens’ free speech rights, lobbying and influence operations that seek to steer our policies or involve us in foreign conflicts, and the cynical manipulation of our immigration system to build up voting blocs loyal to foreign interests within our country. The United States will chart our own course in the world and determine our own destiny, free of outside interference."

“Middle East partners are demonstrating their commitment to combatting radicalism, a trendline American policy should continue to encourage. But doing so will require dropping America’s misguided experiment with hectoring these nations—especially the Gulf monarchies—into abandoning their traditions and historic forms of government. We should encourage and applaud reform when and where it emerges organically, without trying to impose it from without. The key to successful relations with the Middle East is accepting the region, its leaders, and its nations as they are while working together on areas of common interest.”

Back in May, North Korea unveiled another air-to-air missile that had similar features to the U.S.-made AIM-120, which like the Storm Shadow, had also been supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

While the recent missile likely has Chinese and Russian components, Western analysts are almost certain that Russia has been passing along the knowledge it has gained from captured and downed Western missiles in Ukraine to the DPRK.

Benin's Coup Attempt Leader Pascal Tigri Reportedly Declared Wanted by Security Forces

🇧🇯 Some members of the group that attempted to seize power in Benin on Sunday have already been arrested, according to media outlet 24 Heures au Benin.

Other soldiers, including Lieutenant Colonel Tigri, are reportedly on the run.

👉 The Republican Guard regained control of the situation a few hours after a group of soldiers announced on national television that they had "removed President Talon from office," the media outlet noted.

Attempted Coup in Benin: ECOWAS & African Union Condemn Perpetrators

🇧🇯 The Economic Community of West African States praised the efforts of the “republican army” and expressed its support for the Beninese government.

"ECOWAS strongly condemns this unconstitutional move that represents a subversion of the will of the people of Benin […] ECOWAS holds the leaders of the plot individually and collectively responsible for any loss of life and property occasioned by their action," the community said.

👉 For his part, AU Commission Chairperson Mahamoud Ali Youssouf urged "all actors involved in the coup attempt to immediately cease all unlawful actions, to fully respect the Constitution of Benin, and to return without delay to their legitimate barracks and professional obligations."

He encouraged "all national stakeholders to prioritize unity, dialogue, and the preservation of national peace."
