Under normal circumstances, I would agree with Massie. Following conventional logic, he is correct that this strike should lead to a protracted war. Except Iran hasnโt signaled or even postured that it intends to declare war on the U.S.
Why not? Instead, they are actually saying that the facilities have been empty for a while, which undermines the argument that they have suffered casualties from the strike. (Which would garner international sympathy/support, under normal circumstances.)
