Here we can see the strategy in President Trump appointing [avowed Zionist] Mike Huckabee as ambassador to Israel. I think Huckabee is speaking in earnest, to the best of his knowledge, and if what I think is about to happen actually happens, having somebody like Huckabee in the room with the Israelis (whom they think they control) is the best way to insure that you maintain contact with Netanyahu as the optics evolve and the pivot toward Palestine and Mahmoud Abbas occurs.

Ultimately, I think Netanyahu will lash out and defy Trump’s wishes/efforts for peace with Iran, but the optics that Trump did everything he could to subdue Tel Aviv’s animosity will be undeniable.
