Netanyahu is the one trying to expand the Israeli Supreme Court and pack it with friendly judges— while also trying to amend the procedure to make the appointments unilateral. (No consensus in the Knesset required.) The reason he is doing this is in anticipation of the pending prosecution of the felony charges filed against him in 2019. He is hoping to get any convictions overturned by the Supreme Court.
Comparing Netanyahu to Trump is insane. He has spent his entire professional life in politics. The more appropriate comparison would be the Bush or Clinton dynasties.
