Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a decree Monday revoking the longstanding system of payments to families of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and to families of those killed or wounded in attacks against Israelis. The policy, referred to as “pay-for-slay” by the first Trump administration and the Israeli government, had been a major point of contention between the U.S. and the Palestinian Authority.

(Adelson died during the Biden term, but his wife Miriam gave Trump's 2024 campaign $100M.)

The recording revealed that Bibi approached Mozes— whose newspaper was not providing favorable coverage of Bibi— and promised to promote legislation that would restrict the circulation of the rival newspaper (Israel Hayom, owned by Sheldon Adelson) in exchange for favorable coverage of Bibi in Moses's newspaper. (And negative coverage of his political rivals.)

Mozes was indicted on attempted bribery, while Bibi was indicted on fraud.
