"Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan told reporters after the summit that diplomatic relations would be restored in full with Qatar, although no time frame was given.
“We are extremely pleased with having been able to achieve this very important breakthrough that we believe will contribute very much to the stability and security of all our nations in the region,” Prince Faisal said. “We are at a place where everybody is satisfied and happy ... the returning of diplomatic relations, flights, etc., all of that will now go back to normal.”
The diplomatic breakthrough followed a final push by the outgoing Trump administration and Kuwait to mediate the dispute. It also came as Saudi Arabia seeks to unify Arab ranks ahead of the incoming administration of President-elect Joe Biden, which is expected to take a firmer stand toward the kingdom and re-engage with Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulated Qatar “for the success of its brave resistance to pressure & extortion.” He also said in a message to other Arab leaders that “Iran is neither an enemy nor threat — especially with your reckless patron on his way out,” referring to Trump."
__
"Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who embraced Qatar’s emir upon his arrival at the summit, said the region needed to unite and face challenges posed by Iran’s proxies and its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
He said the declaration signed by Gulf leaders and Egypt “emphasizes Arab and Gulf solidarity and stability, and reinforces the continuity of friendship and brotherhood between our countries.”
The four countries that jointly boycotted Qatar were hoping their embargo and media blitz would pressure it to end its close relations with Turkey and Iran. Egypt and the UAE view the support by Qatar and Turkey of Islamist groups like the Muslim Brotherhood as a security threat. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are primarily concerned about Qatar’s ties with Iran.
The boycott failed to change Doha’s stance, however, instead buoying its young ruler domestically as patriotic fervor swept through Qatar in support of his resolve. It also pushed Qatar closer to Turkey and Iran, which rushed to assist the ultra-wealthy Gulf state as it faced medical and food supply shortages in the first days of the embargo."

🇫🇷🇹🇩 France continues military withdrawal from Chad as cooperation agreements end
The French Army released footage of the ongoing withdrawal process. The complete departure is scheduled for January 31, with equipment, including tanks, being loaded onto a Ukrainian An-124-100M cargo plane.
In late November of last year, Chad's ministry of foreign affairs announced its decision to end what President Mahamat Idriss Deby called "obsolete" and "outdated" military cooperation agreements with France.

Maybe Elon's strategy with XformerlyTwitter/Grok is similar to the old adage about the parent who catches the child smoking cigarettes and forces them to smoke a whole pack so they never want the experience again.
We can hope that's it. Otherwise, it's getting pretty dystopian over there.

Each week, I will be joined by a rotation of guest co-hosts to document and discuss the history that we are witnessing unfold before our eyes, to the best of our discernment. Think of it as a "first draft" of the story of this age. You will get a different anecdote every week, from TrumpaMania and geopolitics, to Devolution and Q, with The Donald serving as our story's main protagonist. The goal is to be both fun and informative, but most of all to tell a great story.
All history is interpretation. This is ours.
See you at 7:30 on Badlands Media!

The CIA killed India's nuclear physicist Homi Bhabha and the second Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri in January 1966 to prevent India from developing a nuclear bomb, Robert Crowley, a former CIA official, confessed in a book by Gregory Douglas.
▪️In October 1965, Bhabha, then chairman of the Indian Atomic Energy Commission, stated that India could develop an atomic bomb within 18 months if permitted by the government.
🗣 "We had trouble with India back in the '60s when they got uppity and started working on the atomic bomb," Crowley said in Conversations with the Crow, published in 2013.
▪️Bhabha’s life, along with 116 other passengers, was tragically lost when Air India Flight 101, traveling from Bombay (Mumbai) to London, crashed into Mont Blanc in France on January 24, 1966.
▪️Shastri, who signed a peace accord with Pakistan in Tashkent, died under mysterious circumstances hours later.
▪️Indira Gandhi was reportedly aware of Shastri's murder, as she was next in line to become prime minister, therefore she chose to remain silent, some Indian netizens suggest.
▪️Others are confident that she may have even been involved in the assassination plot.
Did Indira Gandhi really aid CIA in deaths of Bhabha and Shastri?

THROWBACK: 🇸🇾 Syrian President Bashar al-Assad reveals that 🇮🇳 India and Syria are both victims of terrorism:
Let us remind you that Syrian Ambassador Riad Kamel Abbas backed India’s position on J&K in 2016, affirming that the Kashmir issue is an internal matter for India, and New Delhi has the right to address it as it deems appropriate.

«The reason why we have been facing terrorism could be different. But at the end, terrorism is one. And the ideology that we've been facing is the same one.»

Last night I was joined by Absolute1776 for the premiere (Chapter One) of my new show, The Book of Trump, on Badlands Media.
In Chapter One, we discussed Donald Trump's long and intimate history with the world of professional wrestling, going back to the 1980's and the casino that he built with the FBI to entrap the mob, where Trump first met Hulk Hogan. We explored how the origin of "Kayfabe" coincided with Trump's partnership with the WWE, and how Trump most likely learned important lessons in the art of branding, marketing, script-writing, and yes, Kayfabe, from his experience working with the McMahons and observing the world of professional wrestling.
Oh, and while we live, the WWE premiered their first episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix, and this happened. (The return of Hulk Hogan— TrumpaMania lives, brother.)
Thanks again to Paul for joining me on the premiere. You can catch the replay of our show at the link below, and all future chapters live at 7:30 PM EST on Badlands Media.
