When it comes to Russia’s role in BRICS development, Moscow "has been a driving force behind this coalition of powerful emerging economies," Adriel Kasonta, a London-based foreign affairs analyst and former chairman of the International Affairs Committee at the Bow Group think tank, told Sputnik.

BRICS has already transformed into "a significant force on the global stage", which is evident in the increasing interest from non-Western countries wanting to join the organization, according to the analyst.

🗣 "The inclusivity of the BRICS project, which contrasts with the exclusivity often found in neoliberal Western institutions, makes it even more appealing to emerging countries that seek to take control of their own geo-economic futures", he pointed out.

BRICS "offers a renewed opportunity for formerly colonized countries to define their economic future without being further exploited by past colonial powers", Kasonta concluded.

🇹🇷🇸🇾 Turkey to become intermediary in Ukrainian grain supplies to Syria, reports say

🌾 The leader of the Syrian transitional government Ahmed al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammad al-Julani met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibikha on the issue of grain supplies, the Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak reported, citing sources.

The two officials agreed that the grain will be delivered to Syrian ports by ships via Turkey. At the first stage of deliveries, which will be carried out with Turkey's mediation, there are plans to deliver 500 tonnes of grain to the Syrian port of Latakia, the report noted.

🛢Turkey plans to become an intermediary in the supply not only of Ukrainian grain, but also Azerbaijani diesel fuel to Syria, according to the report.
