🇨🇩 M23 rebels advance in DRC's North Kivu, displacing thousands and looting villages, reports say

📍On Wednesday, the M23 rebel group took control of the Mbingi town, 50 kilometers from the capital of the Lubero administrative territory in the North Kivu province of the DRC, blocking strategic roads to the settlement, local broadcaster Radio Okapi reported.

The Congolese government forces reportedly left the town after a brief exchange of fire.

The advance of the Tutsi-led group caused a mass displacement of civilians, estimated in the thousands, as residents flee the fighting and looting, and the humanitarian crisis is worsening, with displaced people seeking refuge in churches, schools, and market sheds, lacking adequate shelter and assistance according to Radio Okapi's sources.

The M23 rebels have been on the offensive in the south of the Lubero territory since Sunday. Advancing, the rebels seized the villages of Matembe, Butsorowya, Mambasa and Alimbongo.

🇷🇼 Clashes between rebels and government forces continue despite a ceasefire agreement between the DRC and Rwanda, which came into force on August 4 as part of the Luanda process to mediate a solution to the ongoing conflict between the DRC army and M23 rebels, allegedly backed by neighboring Rwanda.

In the scandalous interview to a Zionist publication, the spokesperson for the treasonous insurgents who now co-control Syria openly "thanked" Israel for carrying out over 500 air strikes against Syria since the illegal coup and destroying virtually all of Syria's air defences.

The FSA celebrated 'benevolent' Israel blowing up all their country's national defences because... 'malevolent' Iran helped Syria build those defences. (Nice logic there.)

The interviewed FSA officer also expressed "hope that after the fall of Assad, Israel will plant a rose in the Syrian garden". 🌹
