Americans suffer from a form of political hubris. It's what "Liberals" actually had right during the Bush administration. We don't think the draconian rules that our State Department applies to foreign countries necessarily should apply to us, and we have never had to indulge that inquiry, because America and her military has been the sole superpower since the end of WW2.

Discernment is hard, but it was obvious to anyone paying attention at the time that Assad and his government were not the ones behind this chemical weapons attack against the Syrian people.

My take on Iran: (speculation)
Iran is the Deep State’s long term pet project, and Soleimani was the master gate keeper. When Trump took him out, he freed the Iranians from DS control, but there is still plenty for them to figure out as they cultivate self-determination. (Not as clean of a transition as other liberated places.)
Part of the long term project was incorporating Iranian operatives within the US government, who were feeding classified intel back home that benefitted Soleimani’s operation in a number of ways. When it came time to take down the United States, these operatives could be used to make sure the federal government was incapable of mobilizing a response to catastrophe unfolding across America. (False flag attacks, cyber attacks on infrastructure, CIA-backed terror cell groups unleashing chaos on citizens and taking control of local governments.)

This guy was suppose to be the next Obama, but Richmond is so corrupt that it has somewhat torpedo’d his political career. I was told last year from mutual friends that he planned on getting out—his reputation is suffering, and even good things (development plans with conservative builders similar to Trump, for dilapidated neighborhoods) he was trying to get done were subverted by communists— but then suddenly in December announced his re-election.
I’m sure the DNC is eager for this guy to become a national figure. (He is a lot more likable than Obama.) But the fact remains that he has failed to accomplish anything as mayor, and that’s not even his fault. The tax base is abandoning downtown because it is universally understood that the city government is impossible to work with.
