"When we are with our Russian partners, we feel that they respect us. Just as we respect them. But when we're with our French partners, we feel that they behave like bosses and that we have to go along with what they decide," Prime Minister of Burkina Faso Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem de Tambela told Sputnik Africa on his country's decision to turn to Moscow, dissatisfied with its cooperation with the West.
🇷🇺 With Russia, he added, "we discuss and strategize together. We negotiate on every point."
🤝 "Then, in economic terms, with our Russian partners we discuss the economic framework, the economic mechanisms, so that it's favorable for everyone. With our French partners, it's they who sometimes impose contracts according to their visions and interests," the prime minister continued.
🇧🇫 🇳🇪 When Burkina Faso was oriented towards the West, "this did not lead to our flourishing," but to "political and economic enslavement," he said. And the same goes for Niger, the top official noted, where France bought uranium at low prices when it was worth much more on the market.
"So, now we want to try somewhere else. That's why we have turned to Russia, among others," the head of government concluded.

Russia has made "a principle decision" to remove the Taliban from its list of terrorist organizations, Putin's envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kamulov said on Friday, according to Russian state media TASS.
Russia's foreign ministry and security service "are putting finishing legal touches" on the removal, said Kamulov, adding that the final decision will "hopefully" be announced soon.
The Taliban was added to Russia's blacklist in 2003 for backing separatists in the North Caucasus.
In separate comments on Friday during the annual diplomatic forum on Afghanistan in Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called on Western countries to lift sanctions on the Taliban.

Netanyahu may try to muscle out Gallant and replace him with Gideon Sa'ar, whom he just elevated from *minister without portfolio* to the War Cabinet.
From @DotConnectingAnons:

Israel has canceled a planned Wednesday meeting between its Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the Pentagon confirmed Tuesday.
“We were just informed that Minister Gallant will be postponing his trip to Washington, D.C.,” Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh told reporters. “Secretary Austin looks forward to seeing him soon.”
Austin was set to meet with his Israeli counterpart at the Pentagon on Wednesday as the U.S. ally was debating how to respond to Iran’s attack last week. Gallant was also supposed to meet with White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

Hillary has made her presence felt in the opening act of October.
Obama is reportedly going to hit the campaign trail in the days ahead.
And the politicos of the DC Swamp are sending warning flares to the Harris regime that their current narrative strategy is falling on deaf ears while Trump "is everywhere."
All the while, #OurBoyBlue continues to do his best work in the shadows, despite still occupying the highest fake office in the land as fake president.
To wit, in recent days, he's repealed Green New Deal proposals in order to boost domestic energy and chips production (both policies proposed by Donald Trump,) condemned the situation in the Middle East while admitting his regime has no actual control over it ... and now, added to the dogpiling on Harris by throwing in with RON! DeeeeSantis in the midst of the Hurricane Milton chaos.
To the trained Info War eye, it's beginning to look like the carrion crows are circling.
They're hedging ahead of the true October surprises.

Israel sends ‘Fire’ to Lebanon: Here’s what you need to know about the IDF's 98th division
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently released footage of soldiers from the 98th 'Fire' Division gearing up for their operation from the Lebanese border
What is known about this unit?
▪️ The 98th 'HaEsh' (meaning ‘Fire’ in Hebrew) Paratroopers Division was set up in 1974 following the Yom Kippur War, with the aim of defending Israel’s borders against threats from Lebanon and Syria.
▪️ This elite reserve infantry division is part of the Israeli army and comprises several brigades, including infantry, armored, and artillery units, as well as the Paratroopers Brigade and the Commando Brigade.
▪️ The division was redeployed from the Gaza Strip, where it had been conducting operations since October 2023, to the Israel-Lebanon border
▪️ The division participated in both the First Lebanon War in 1982 and the Second Lebanon War in 2006, engaging in battles in Beirut and its southern suburbs, as well as surrounding the city of Saida.
Controversial moments in the division's history:
▪️ During the First Lebanon War, the 98th division was involved in encircling the Sabra and Shatila Palestinian refugee camps right when Lebanese Kataeb units (right-wing Christian forces) began a campaign of ethnic cleansing in both camps, according to Israeli Kahane Commission, which investigated the incident. As a result of the massacre that occurred during September 16-18, 1982, approximately 800 civilians lost their lives.
▪️ The division's performance in the 2006 Second Lebanon War also came under criticism, as Israeli government-appointed commission led by Judge Eliyahu Winograd concluded that the 98th did not fully execute its operational tasks. The Israeli government however, didn't disclosed the commission’s report.
Meanwhile, the IDF announced that the 36th division will be also joining Israel's ground operation in southern Lebanon. The 36th division will include soldiers from the 188th Armored Brigade and 6th Infantry Brigade, along with additional forces, the Israeli army noted.

According to the findings of Israel’s Kahane Commission, which investigated the incident, the commander of the 98th division, Amos Yaron, failed to take action to determine what was happening in the blockaded refugee camps.
▪️ The division's performance in the 2006 Second Lebanon War also came under criticism, as Israeli government-appointed commission led by Judge Eliyahu Winograd concluded that the 98th did not fully execute its operational tasks.
