What you are seeing in the videos of Dubai with the flooding should give everybody a renewed appreciation for civil engineering. There is an enormous amount of work that goes into the draining of rainwater— drainage systems which are mostly underground and almost never seen or noticed. I doubt Dubai accounts for rainwater displacement in their civil engineering surveys, given their desert climate.

If it weren't for civil engineering, our cities would look like that every time it rained.

(Two years after the 2011 Arab Spring, Sisi led a Counterinsurgency to throw the Muslim Brotherhood out and retake control of the Egyptian government. Once MBS came to power between 2015/17, the operatives responsible for the insurgency were hunted.)

My favorite part is how Ben Hubbard inverts all of this to present the Muslim Brotherhood as the good guys. That is the premise that you must accept in order to embrace Hubbard’s worldview. (That and the CIA are also good guys)
