Africa is sitting on the real energy transition bottleneck 🌍⚒️

This map isn’t about oil or gas.
It’s about critical minerals.

• Lithium, #copper, manganese, #RareEarths
• Artisanal and small-scale mining dominates supply
• High relevance, Low control and High geopolitical risk

The #energy transition doesn’t fail on demand.
It fails on where the metals come from.

Whoever secures supply from #Africa chains controls:
🔋 batteries
⚡ grids
🤖 EVs
🧠 industrial leverage

The next #commodity supercycle won’t start in London or New York.
It starts here.
Gold and silver are now 1st and 2nd by global market cap

🥇 #Gold $35T
🥈 #Silver $6T

They sit above every equity market, crypto, or #commodity complex.

This is a statement about where global capital trusts value right now.

When the 2 oldest monetary assets dominate the leaderboard,

the message is clear.

#RioTinto has until 5 Feb to bid or walk.

Market talks 15–30% premium and a $260bn+ combined giant.

But this isn’t a horserace.

This deal is a quiet admission that organic growth in mining is broken.

• #Copper at $13,300/t
• 10 Mt supply gap by 2040
• Majors failed to build projects a decade ago
• Now M&A is the fastest way to secure future metal

Rio wouldn’t be buying #Glencore for synergies or cash flow.
It would be buying optionality on scarce copper assets.

And #bhp staying out?
That looks less like hesitation and more like discipline. Cooling-off rules, CEO transition.

When miners start buying each other instead of building mines, the pipeline is empty.

What happens when there’s no one left to merge with, and greenfield exploration becomes unavoidable again?

🇺🇸 Secretary Rubio’s Call with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani

The Secretary and Prime Minister discussed Iraq’s ongoing deliberations to form a government, emphasizing their shared commitment to ensuring that Iraq can fully realize its potential as a force for stability, prosperity, and security in the Middle East.

The Secretary emphasized that a government controlled by Iran cannot successfully put Iraq’s own interests first, keep Iraq out of regional conflicts, or advance the mutually beneficial partnership between the United States and Iraq.

#Gold is on a HISTORIC run with the price hitting a new all-time high of $5,100.

In the last 2 years:

- Gold jumped from $2,030 to $5,100
- Up more than 150%
- Added over $21 trillion in market cap
- U.S. Gold Reserves value has increased from $531 billion to $1.33 trillion.
🇮🇱🇮🇷🇺🇸 Israeli media published a list of potential targets for joint U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, with most of the sites linked to oil and gas facilities.
The United States as we know it is over.

The era of unlimited printing and zero consequences is done.

The Fiat experiment is dead. The great reset is here. Prepare accordingly.

Uranium miners spent a decade massively underperforming equities☢️

Now that relative down cycle looks finished

• Long base, multi-year reset
• Nuclear back as baseload power
• AI + electrification = steady demand
• New supply still slow and capital-constrained

Are we at the start of #uranium catching up… or already late?

Most people are unaware of the rate of acceleration we’re about to see

Think about it

$NVDA's new Vera Rubin NVL72 will have 8 times the compute performance of the GB300

Our best AI models, already taking on hundreds of thousands of jobs, were trained on computers that will soon look prehistoric

Now, the rate of acceleration is such that NVIDIA was able to get that performance improvement in merely a year

Imagine what models, applications, and advancements we’ll get once the largest AI labs get this new hardware in their hands

Now, competition is accelerating, and that accelerates progress even further

$AMD went out there and said they’ll be surpassing not the scale of the NVL72, but the scale of the NVL576 as well, with their MI500 that comes out in late 2027

Now you can surely think that NVIDIA will plan on outscaling them again with their next Feynman architecture

It’s not just competition in hardware. Every 3 months we get new models from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, each pushing the limits of artificial intelligence further

We’re approaching a new age

Up until now, intelligence was the scarce asset

That’s why you had SaaS with the best developers making the best returns in the stock market

There has been a shift

Now, you look at the best performers in the markets, and where you used to see software companies, now you see mining, refining, nuclear, grid, rare earths, critical materials, memory, PCBs, even chiller companies

What is happening?

We’re entering the age where intelligence isn’t scarce anymore, and once intelligence is abundant, the thing that will be scarce will be physical resources

It used to be that our interactions with the physical world were limited by our minds. Now, it’s not our minds, but artificial ones that act as if our planet were populated by trillions and not billions, and that runs into physical constraints

Maybe this isn’t obvious yet, but it will be as the world accelerates around us to the point we can barely catch up with it

But we are investors after all, so what’s the trade here? As one X user would ask

Everything that could become a constraint to what always was the final and ultimate goal of AI, super intelligence and the automation of everything

And to achieve that, we need energy, lots of it, from many different sources. We need materials to build robots in the millions, so AI can improve our lives beyond intellectual work. We need the minerals and metals necessary for the fabrication of computers. We need gargantuan buildouts that can host immense computational power

We also need hope, as a species, that this is the path humanity should follow, because once you’re all in, you cannot pull out

And finally, we need rockets, and we need to let AI discover the depths of outer space for us, because since humanity left Africa thousands of years ago, one thing became clear, humanity doesn’t settle for comfort, it thrives on curiosity
