Critical minerals and rare earth elements are quietly becoming one of the most important long-term investment and geopolitical themes of the coming decade.

As global supply chains fracture and geopolitical risks rise, countries are shifting from cost efficiency to supply security. Critical mineralsโ€”lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper, graphite, uranium, and rare earth elementsโ€”are essential inputs for EVs, batteries, semiconductors, AI data centers, defense systems, aerospace, robotics, and clean energy infrastructure. Without reliable access to these materials, technological leadership stalls.

For decades, production and processing have been highly concentrated in a few regions, creating strategic vulnerabilities. Today, governments are responding aggressively. The US, Canada, EU, and allies are investing billions into domestic mining, refining, recycling, and alternative supply chains. Policy support, subsidies, long-term offtake agreements, and national stockpiling are becoming common tools. This isnโ€™t a short-term cycleโ€”itโ€™s a structural reset.

Rare earth elements, in particular, are critical for permanent magnets used in EV motors, wind turbines, precision missiles, satellites, and advanced electronics. Demand is expected to grow exponentially as electrification, automation, and defense spending accelerate. At the same time, permitting constraints and long development timelines mean supply cannot respond quickly, setting up a potential multi-year supply-demand imbalance.

Critical minerals also benefit from multiple overlapping demand curves. EV adoption, grid-scale energy storage, AI infrastructure buildout, and military modernization are all pulling from the same resource base. Even conservative demand forecasts suggest sustained upward pressure on volumes and pricing through the 2030s.

For investors, this theme favors upstream producers, developers with strategic assets in stable jurisdictions, processing and refining specialists, and recycling technologies. Countries with rich mineral reserves and strong regulatory frameworks are positioned to become the new strategic hubs of the global economy.

In the coming years, critical minerals wonโ€™t just be commoditiesโ€”theyโ€™ll be strategic assets, shaping trade policy, national security, and long-term market leadership. This is one of those rare themes where geopolitics, technology, and capital markets convergeโ€”and itโ€™s only just getting started.

Silver is ๐Ÿš€

Solar PV, electrification, and investment flows are colliding with a market that has never been deep or elastic.

History shows silver moves quietly for years.

Then it reprices fast๐Ÿ’ฅ

This cycle itโ€™s about industrial demand meeting monetary uncertainty.

Silver isnโ€™t lagging gold anymore...Itโ€™s starting to lead.

What carries the move next: industrial offtake or investor allocation?

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธUS is still the worldโ€™s undisputed oil heavyweight๐Ÿฅ‡

20 mb/d๐Ÿ›ข๏ธ

More than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined capacity growth over the past decade.

But the real takeaway isnโ€™t volume alone.

The US produces the most oil outside #OPEC control, with flexibility, speed, and political leverage.

This is why #Trump keeps saying it openly.
Energy dominance isnโ€™t a slogan...Itโ€™s a control tool.

Everyone is talking about EU's Trade "Bazooka" today.

Just putting out this fact:

The EU collected more from US tech fines in 2024 than taxes from all European tech firms, combined.

US fines -> โ‚ฌ3.8B

EU tax -> โ‚ฌ3.2B

The EU funds itself through US fines.

๐ŸšจGreenland may become the EUโ€™s real tipping point with the US

#Trumpโ€™s tariff threats against countries backing Greenland force a hard question in Brussels:

What if the US actually takes control of Greenland?

EU leaders face two paths.

Option 1: Do nothing
Dialogue hasnโ€™t delivered much. Unity is fragile. France is weakened. Ukraine and Russia dominate strategic bandwidth.

Option 2: Act and rethink energy dependence
The deal promised $750bn of U.S. energy purchases. And it hands Washington leverage.

Reality check:
โ€ข 55%+ of EU LNG imports now come from the US
โ€ข 14โ€“15% of EU oil imports came from the U.S. in Q1โ€“Q3 2025 (already declining)

Energy dominance is becoming a geopolitical pressure point.
Not just a trade issue.

If Greenland escalates this, Europe may be forced to choose between strategic autonomy and energy security.

Where does the EU push back first. LNG, oil, or regulation?

โšก Coal is back and ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ needs it

China burns 4,780 Mt of coal a year.

What just happened in the US:

โ€ข DOE ordered 5 coal plants to stay online under emergency authority

โ€ข Up to 13 GW of retired capacity could be restarted with $350m support

โ€ข #Coal generation rose +13% last year, mainly by delaying closures

Now compare that to #China...
๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ 4,780 Mt produced and consumed in 2025.
More than the rest of the world combined.
For context:
โ€ข ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ #India: 1,085 Mt
โ€ข ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ #Indonesia: 836 Mt
โ€ข ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ US: 465 Mt

Coal remains Chinaโ€™s industrial backbone.
Manufacturing, steel, cement, data centers, grid stability.

Coal is no longer just a climate issue.
Itโ€™s becoming a geopolitical weapon.
US venture capital is flooding into rare earths.

VC investment in U.S. rare earth startups hit $628.5m in 2025.

Thatโ€™s a 3,000% jump vs 2024.

And that excludes government deals.

The Pentagon alone put $400m into MP Materials last summer.

Result:

โ€ข US startups captured 90% of global rare earth VC funding last year

Why the rush?

China controls:
โ€ข 60% of global mining
โ€ข 90%+ of refining capacity

This is a supply chain emergency response.

Capital is being mobilized to buy time, build processing, and dilute Chinaโ€™s chokehold.

#Mining was ignored for a decade.
Now itโ€™s treated like defense infrastructure.

Does this money solve refining fast enough or does #China keep the upper hand longer?

US nuclear revival is no longer theoretical๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ

The US is set to spend $350bn+ on nuclear power through 2050.

Capital deployment accelerates through the 2030s, peaking around $20bn per year.

This is about baseload power for AI, data centers, and grid stability.

Life extensions, new builds, and SMRs all move in parallel.
Once capital is committed, demand becomes sticky for decades.

This locks in:
โ€ข Higher uranium demand
โ€ข Longer fuel contracting cycles
โ€ข Strategic focus on domestic and allied supply chains

Nuclear is shifting from โ€œoptionโ€ to infrastructure necessity.

Where does the bottleneck show up first. fuel, permitting, or execution?

#Nuclear #Uranium #Energy #Infrastructure #AI
โ˜ข๏ธUraniumโ€™s setup is getting harder to ignore.

Mine supply does not meet current reactor demand.
And the gap widens from here.

Today:
โ€ข Supply: 176 mln lbs
โ€ข Demand: 182 mln lbs
โ€ข Deficit: 5.4 mln lbs

By 2040:
โ€ข Demand nearly doubles
โ€ข Supply growth lags badly
โ€ข Expected deficit: 197 mln lbs

Drivers are structural:
โ€ข Nuclear life extensions
โ€ข New reactor builds
โ€ข SMRs
โ€ข AI and data center power demand
โ€ข Energy security policy shifts

Uranium doesnโ€™t behave like oil or gas.
Supply is slow, political, and capital-intensive.

Thatโ€™s why deficits matter here more than forecasts.

What closes the gap first prices, new mines, or demand destruction?

Silver just crossed $94/oz๐Ÿš€

The highest price in history๐Ÿ’ฐ

Up +31% in 2026 alone.

This is no longer a catch up trade versus gold.
Itโ€™s a structural repricing driven by:

โ€ข Persistent supply tightness
โ€ข Industrial demand (solar, electrification)
โ€ข Investor re-allocation toward real assets

Silver markets are thin by design.
When momentum meets fundamentals, moves get violent.

This rally is accelerating.

What caps silver first: supply response, policy, or demand destruction?
